What is Crystal Writing Assistant?

Crystal Writing Assistant is an in-email tool that helps you adapt your communication style towards the personality of your buyer as you're writing.

First, there was spell-check. Then, there was grammar-check.

And now, for the first time ever, we’re excited to announce the first of its kind, Crystal Writing Assistant: your very own personality check.

Since 2015, we’ve been the software platform that helps business professionals reveal anyone’s natural personality type, using the well-validated personality framework, DISC. Now, we continue to help teams communicate and write more effectively to buyers, teammates, and other business professionals.

How does Crystal Writing Assistant work?

To get started, download Crystal's Chrome Extension if you want to use it for Gmail. For those who want to use it on Microsoft Outlook, download the Crystal Outlook plug-in.

Here’s how the writing assistant works afterwards:

1. With your email platform up, enter the name of the recipient on the sidebar of your Chrome extension. If you know their DISC type, you can manually input it using the DISC wheel.

2. Read the direction, and start writing your email. Each personality type comes with a direction in the lower-right hand corner of your email platform or dashboard, helping you get into the mindset of how to write an email. What you miss, Crystal will catch, highlighting the words and phrases that can be optimized towards your buyer’s DISC type.

3. Review your highlights. You’ve written your email; now it’s time to review the highlighted words and phrases with the suggested “remove” or “replace” directions to cater your email towards your recipient's personality, and tweak the rest as needed. Use the insights to guide you towards more inspiration to personalize your approach even more, if you'd like.

4. Send your emails with confidence, knowing that you’ve communicated in their natural style. 

What technology is Crystal Writing Assistant integrated with?

Currently, we’re integrated into the browser-based versions of Gmail and Outlook. If you don’t have these platforms, that’s okay; use our writing assistant via your free account, which has all of the same features as our integrations.
